Girl Scout Daisies of Troop 10380 Making a Difference In A Big Way

February 20, 2014
Girls Scouts are not only known for those yummy tasty cookies enjoyed by so many once a year – they also work on many projects in their community. Their goal? To help make the world a better place while building confidence and character in the many girls that are proud to be Girls Scouts.

Girl Scout Daisies are the youngest in the troop and are often underestimated because they are only five and six years old, but the Girl Scout Daisies of Troop 10380 located in Coral Springs are proving everyone wrong. Troop 10380 consists of 30 girls who aren't the least bit unable – they all enjoy sports, ballets, camping, gardening and of course selling Girl Scout cookies.

Last year they embarked on one of the three Daisy journeys called The Daisy Flower Garden. The main goal of this journey was to focus on the leadership philosophy of the girls as they discovered themselves and their values while also helping to improve their community. They have taken action on their journey by caring for themselves and the individual mini gardens that they all planted, and have ended their journey by cleaning up their Troops butterfly garden located at Westchester Elementary and planting 100 new flowers donated to them from their local Home Depot (of Coral Springs).

Troop Leader Krista Ali wants to see her Daisies do more than expected of Daisies, and be a bigger part of the largest girl-led organization. She believes that no matter how old you are, you can make a huge difference even if in 30 small ways."
