Honoring Our Unsung Heroes

The City of Margate Launches Military Tribute Banner Program

By The City of Margate February 26, 2020

Great news coming from the The City of Margate. The city has launched a Military Tribute Banner Program.  The purpose of this program is to honor our local veterans and those currently serving our nation in the United States Armed Forces.

The City’s Military Tribute Banner Program was created for the community to publicly honor and recognize our unsung heroes - active duty military personnel and veterans - who reside or have an immediate family member that resides in the City of Margate. City of Margate employees may also participate.

The banners will be displayed on the light poles along Margate Boulevard in time for Memorial Day.

Participants will choose one of three designs to honor: (1) a veteran, (2) an active duty service member, or (3) in memory of a service person. Each banner, which costs $100, will display the honorees photo, branch of service, and military service information. Proof of active duty status or honorable discharge is required.

To purchase a banner, please go to margatefl.com/militarybannerprogram. Applications are also available at Margate City Hall, located at 5790 Margate Boulevard.

For more information about the program, please call Alison Saffold in the City Manager’s Office at (954) 935-5306 or visit margatefl.com/militarybannerprogram.
