Broward County Libraries Recognizes Womens' Journey to Voting

Special Events In March And April Celebrating Women's History Month

February 26, 2020

This month and for one date in April the Broward County Library (in select locations) will feature events that celebrate women's suffrage. The story of suffrage (which is the movement that led to giving all women the right to vote in the United States) will be told and presented by the League of Women Voters of Broward County. The events are as follows:

  • Monday, March 16, 6:30PM-7:30PM: South Regional
  • Wednesday, March 25, 6:30PM-7:30PM: Southwest Regional Library
  • Saturday, March 28, 11:00AM-12:00PM, Main Library
  • Saturday, April 18, 3:00PM-4:00PM, North Regional

In addition, to honor of Women’s History Month, Broward County Library and World and Eye Arts Center offer a series of free arts workshops. The series celebrates women’s power, creativity and self-discovery and offers skills in poetry writing, storytelling, mask performance, art-making and dance. Each workshop focuses on a different aspect of creativity to be displayed at the Performance Festival. Attendees may join one or all workshops; Eventbrite registration is requested:

Happy Women's History Month!
