Sci-Fi & Comic Convention

At The The African American Research Library & Cultural Center

The African American Research Library & Cultural Center Sci-Fi & Comic Convention (AARLCC-CON), a free, public sci-fi and comic convention for all ages, is happening online from 10AM to 3PM on Saturday, October 3, 2020. It is a signature event of the African-American Research Library and Cultural Center (AARLCC), 2650 Sistrunk Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311, 954-357-6282. 

AARLCC-CON will host a diverse slate of Black writers and illustrators who will share ideas and present their latest works. This exciting event is also a networking opportunity where local sci-Fi/comic enthusiasts can engage with nationally known writers and illustrators.

This year, special guests include prolific television director of CW’s Supergirl and creator of The Legend of the Mantamaji  Eric Dean Seaton; author of the Nightmare-Verse series L.L. McKinney; publisher and comic creator, Jamila Rowser; and author of the twisted fairytale series, Cinderella is Dead, Kalynn Bayron, among other notables. Please see the attached schedule.

The event, now in its second year, will open with a live, free virtual Nitro Show featuring the Museum of Science and Discovery.
